June 6, 2008 - Honolulu -- The second day of competition for the BURGER KING® State Championships saw some prime surf conditions for statewide contestants as wave heights reached six foot faces at the Ala Moana Bowls surf break.

Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship

The Australian surfing team has won the most prestigious tournament on
the planet for surfers under the age of 18, the Quiksilver ISA World
Junior Surfing Championship, for the third consecutive time. This
historic deed was achieved in the perfect waves of Le Penon beach. They
provided the best conditions of the entire event, with large and
perfect four to six foot faces.

Kelly Slater defeats CJ Hobgood to claim Globe Pro Fiji |

June 3, 2008 : - - Tavarua, Fiji -- Eight-time ASP World Champion Kelly
Slater (USA) has won his third event on the 2008 ASP World Tour after
eliminating C.J. Hobgood in the final of the Globe Pro Fiji held in six
foot (two metre) waves at Cloudbreak. Slater remains the only member of
the ASP Top 45 to win an event this year – the last ASP World Tour
event held in Tahiti was won by a wildcard.
