Ocean Experience Surf School and Braille Institute San Diego unite for the 11th annual surf camp for visually impaired students on Monday, July 18 – Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Located at Mission Point and South Mission Beach Jetty, this three-day surf camp truly breaks the barriers faced by Braille Institute students.

carissa_moore_trophyCarissa Moore (HAW), 18, has just made ASP history as the youngest ever ASP Women’s World Champion, clinching her maiden title today at the Roxy Pro Biarritz.

“I dreamed of surfing at this level my whole life since I was a little kid and I don’t think you can ever expect or anticipate the feeling,” Moore said. “It is amazing. There is no place I would rather be right now.”

Australia Wins the Team Gold Medal in the 2011 Billabong ISA World Surfing Games

brazilisaAustralia won the Billabong ISA World Surfing Games Team Gold Medal, and was awarded te Fernando Aguerre World Team Trophy today in glassy and consistent two-to-four feet waves in Panama’s Playa Venao. Three years after their last victory in Portugal in 2008, the Aussies put their country back on top as the premiere surfing National Team in the world.

The annual Billabong ISA World Surfing Games got underway today at Playa Venao’s perfect three-to-five foot lefts and rights. The race for the Fernando Aguerre ISA World Team Trophy has begun with 27 countries in contention, which over the next six days will narrow down to only one champion of the premiere world team surfing event.
