Silvana Lima won her first title at Billabong Surf ECO Festival

June 22, 2008 - With the 8,5 wave in the last seconds of the heat, the Brazilian Silvana Lima won her first title on the Billabong Surf ECO Festival in Praia do Forte, north of Bahia. At the final, the Brazilian defeated the current WQS number one, the Australian Sally Fitzgibbons, who was leading the heat in the 4 feet waves.

June 13, 2008 - What a day for the Hawaiian surfers at the SriLankan Airlines Pro in the Maldives. Starting the day with six surfers still in contention, they ended the day with five of them through to the quarter finals!  The only one eliminated was Sunny Garcia in the opening heat against fellow Hawaiian Makua Rothman.

June 7, 2008 - Honolulu -- Whopper size waves treated finalists to some  action at the Ala Moana Bowl as the double over head surf took competitors by surprise for the final day of competition. From 7:00 A.M. surf started to build and by 10:00 A.M., eight foot faces kept surfers scratching to the channel in the biggest surf of the young summer season.
