Born and raised in Waialua, Kauai, Malia Manuel has surfing in her
blood. She broke into the professional circuit at 13 years old,
finishing ninth place at the 2006 Hale‘iwa OP Pro. Now, at 14, Malia
has ripped her way to the top of the heat sheets as a 2006 Open Women
NSSA Nationals Runner-up, 2007 NSSA Middle School Girls Champion, 2007
Rip Curl Grom Search National Girls winner and a 2007 NSSA Hawaii's
Open Women Regional Champion. "Malia is an up and comer in the sport,
her progressive and smooth style is top notch," said O’Neill Athlete
Marketing Manager Karin Kendrick. Be on the lookout for this wahine of
the progressive new school.
